Benefits
Good interviewing skills are not just important when selecting a candidate for a job they are also useful when seeking information and giving feedback (such as during an appraisal interview, for example).
Aim
To understand the key elements of an interview and be able to either sell yourself as an interviewee or conduct a successful session as the interviewer.

- Assessing a specific job opportunity (is it right for you?)
- Overview of what potential employers look for in a candidate
- Essential aspects of interview preparation (including background research & practice with ‘stock’ answers to standard questions)
- The importance of appropriate dress code and other aspects of office etiquette (such as the handshake & remembering names)
- Questioning techniques & common question types (including ones to avoid as an interviewer)
- Developing effective listening skills
- Presenting yourself (including aspects of body language, vocal style and conversational technique)
- Concluding the interview and following-up afterwards
