Hints and Tips - Microsoft Project (2 Levels)
- Fill a range of ‘cells’…
- enter the data to be copied in cell
- select this ‘cell’ and Click and Drag down to highlight the cells to be filled
- press CTRL + D
- Quickly link all activities in a project…
- Click on any column heading in the data table, (e.g. ‘Task Name’)
- press CTRL + F2
- Quickly unlink all activities in a project…
- Click on any column heading in the data table
- press CTRL + SHIFT + F2
- View the Gantt bar for the currently selected activity…
- from the Gantt chart select the activity of interest
- press CTRL + SHIFT + F5
- Zoom in the Gantt chart…
- hold down the CTRL key whilst at the same time…
- gently rolling the central mouse wheel, (without pressing it)
- View the Timescale dialog box
- Double Click anywhere in the timescale, (top of Gantt chart)
- Display the Bar Styles dialog box
- Double Click anywhere on the white background of the Gantt chart
- View activity details
- Double Click anywhere on the activities details in the table
- Quickly switch tables
- Right Click on the large grey square at the top left of any table
- pick the desired table from the list
- Quickly change a task relationship
- Double Click any linking arrow in the Gantt chart
- make the changes, (e.g. to the Type of link or by adding Lag)
- Go to a specific task ID or date
- press F5
- either enter a task ID or a date, (or both)
- Delete the contents of a ‘cell’, (rather than the whole task)
- select the ‘cell’ and press CTRL + RETURN
